Week 1 offered near-monumental upsets, fearless play-calling and a few atrocious uniforms. Expect the craziness to continue.

• Utah State succeeded in giving Auburn fans the most simultaneous ulcers, but Auburn did end up with the win.
• Baylor showed its Christian school compadré that it’s no push-over with a 50-48 win over TCU.
• South Florida ruined the hopes of all Irish fans as they toppled Notre Dame.
• While the biggest hyped game of the weekend saw #3 LSU run near rough-shot over #4 Oregon

Here we go again with another great college football season. Make no mistakes about it, we will be rooting for Missouri State and Arkansas … two teams who happened to face each other this opening weekend, but since they are out of conference and even division, there’s not much conflict of interest there.

Who will hoist the Lombardi trophy in 2012? Well, we’ve really failed the past couple of years in our predictions, but we DID predict the Chiefs to return to conference championship form!
