Rookie pitcher Johnny Stuart hurled a pair of complete-game victories against the Braves at Boston on July 10, 1923. Stuart would only win a total of 20 games for the Cardinals in his four-year Major League career. The following season, another Cardinal rookie, Hi Bell, would accomplish the same feat; the last time it’s been done in Major League Baseball.
