On June 15, 1952, St. Louis trailed the Giants, 11-0, after three innings of a game played at New York’s at the Polo Grounds. They would go on to win, 14-12. Unfortunately, in the nightcap of the scheduled doubleheader, the Cardinals were shut out on five hits.
