All-Star outfielder Orestes “Minnie” Minoso spent only one year of his 17-year Major League career with the Cardinals, but it was a season he’d rather forget. On May 11, 1962, he ran into a wall at Sportsman’s Park, breaking a wrist and suffering a concussion, missing over two months in action. The, on August 18, he broke a bone in his forearm after being hit by a pitch. Minoso would play in only 39 games in that 1962 season.
