Mark O’Meara shoots his fourth consecutive round of 67, holding off a charging Tiger Woods and third-round leader David Duval to win his fifth Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. With Woods posting a sizzling 8-under-par 64 in the final round, O’Meara sinks a chip-in for birdie from 20 feet on the 16th hole. Close friends and occasional practice partners, O’Meara and Woods relish their mano-a-mano duel in one of the PGA TourR 17;s showcase events.

January 20, 1974:
At age 26, Johnny Miller captures the Tucson Open by three strokes over rookie pro Ben Crenshaw and becomes the first golfer to win the first three events of the year on the PGA Tour. Following his impressive wins at Pebble Beach and Phoenix, Miller is now 37 under par for the year. A 40-foot birdie putt on the 10th hole today clinches the event in what will prove to be his finest season. He’ll lead the PGA earnings list and be named Player of the Year.
